About Leaders Club
MHABC and the Witham Family YMCA are excited to partner again this year to provide a leadership program for teens and pre-teens called Leaders Club. The first session of the program will begin on Tuesday, October 7th and will meet on every Tuesday from 3:00 – 5:00 PM through the remainder of the school year (except for fall break, winter break, and spring break). We will start back up in late January and will run through the end of school year. Students who have conflicts due to sports or other extracurriculars are encouraged to attend when they are available, even if they cannot attend every week.
The program will be facilitated by a staff member/s who is/are trained in the leadership curriculum. Students will receive lessons on a large array of topics, including leadership skills, community pride, program planning and resource mobilization. The Leaders Club curriculum provides young people with the tools to become leaders among their peers and change their community. While the students are there, they will have opportunities to socialize, eat, participate in various activities, form connections with their peers, and plan and execute service projects, as well as a long-term legacy project, all of which will support their social and emotional health, develop them as leaders, and help fill our community’s needs. Transportation will be provided after school from Lebanon Middle School to the facility (location to be determined; will be in Lebanon, IN) – however, parent pickup will be necessary at the end of each program session promptly by 5:00 p.m. The program is free of charge. We thank Eli Lilly, JDAI, and Drug Free Boone County for their sponsorship of the program!
